Danielle Coulanges - yours truly - has had a renaissance career as an entertainer, a fashion designer, business woman, compliance officer and currently as a high school teacher. One constant, however, has always been my love of music and writing. As a singer, praise worshiper, teacher and blogger, I engage my gifts to uplift, encourage, share wisdom or a laugh and hopefully be a blessing to fellow travelers on this journey called life.
The topics of my blog are whatever strikes me at a particular moment but they focus primarily on aging, health, faith, love, relationships and plain ole life.

Get rid of a negative mindset, confront the situations that keep you down. Surround yourself with positive people and enjoy positive experiences. Embrace change and make the best of it to remain joyful, youthful and vibrant.

Bio
My Story
Born into a family of musicians and writers, music and writing runs in my blood. From my childhood in the Caribbean island of Haiti through my teen and adult years in 1980’s New York City and still today, I sing and write every chance I get.
In my late teens I attempted to become the next Josephine Baker—or Diana Ross. Those aspirations took a detour when I and a boyfriend started a fashion business in New York City and fashion became my life for the next decade or so. I eventually closed the business and spent numerous years as a Compliance Manager at a Wall Street financial services firm.
I returned to college as an adult and graduated from New Jersey City University with a major in Economics to boost my corporate career and a minor in English Literature to delve further into writing. I wrote several published articles and a number of unpublished essays and short stories. My first full-length story, a memoir, Cads, Princes & Best Friends: A Tale of Lust, Love & Redemption, was published in the spring of 2008.
A life-long dream of being a recording artist was fulfilled when I released the single "We Are One" a song with a strong social message in May 2012. My motto “I Live by Faith” is the title of the album of original songs released in November 2012.
I worship at the Light of the World Christian Fellowship in Humble, Texas where I am a member of the praise team.
I am married to a wonderful man who let me be my crazy self. I love family and have no children of my own but my nieces and nephews are like my kids. For the past several years I’ve been a French teacher at a local high school in the Houston area where on a daily basis I get to be teacher, mentor, counselor and auntie to diverse teenagers.
I continue to let my spirit evolve, just like the butterfly metamorphoses from larva to pupa to an amazing thing of beauty. I pray that God uses me to help make my world a better place, for his glory, as I let my wings take me to new and enriching experiences.
I am exceptionally blessed!
